Put This On Your Salad To Burn Fat & Look Younger

You’ve heard it time and time again, if you want to lose weight and reverse the process of aging, you need to get your greens in.  There’s absolutely no questioning the fact that those who eat more fresh vegetables in their daily diet are going to take in far more antioxidants and nutrients than those who don’t.

And, it’s these antioxidants that will help to combat free radical damage that can quickly cause the aging process to occur.

But, are the actual greens the only component of the salad that offers anti-aging and fat loss benefits?

The answer is most definitely not. The nutrition of a great salad doesn’t stop with the greens you create it with.  You must look to your salad dressing as well.

The Power Of Olive Oil

When it comes to the salad dressing that you’re drizzling on your greens, always opt for olive oil based dressing. Not only has this been proven to boost heart-health many times, but now a study that has been published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that those who have the lowest amount of olive oil in their diet on a regular basis are 2.3 times more likely to be overweight than those who consume the highest amount.

This is despite the fact that olive oil is a very high-calorie and high fat food, which many people naturally think means weight gain.

The key to using olive oil successfully in your own plan is to make sure you monitor your serving sizes, so that you are keeping the calorie level under control.  At over 100 calories per tablespoon, it will add up quickly.

Since maintaining a healthy body weight is important to looking and feeling your best as you move through the years, this little tweak to your diet could have a significant influence on your self-confidence level.

Utilizing This In Your Own Diet

Don’t think that you’re just limited to using olive oil on salads though. You can reap the benefits this food has to offer by preparing stir-fries with olive oil, whipping it into sauces to use on pasta, or scrambling your egg whites in the morning with it.

If you do wish to prepare a salad dressing, try combining a few cloves of minced garlic with some black pepper, salt, and half a cup of olive oil along with a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

This will offer a refreshing taste that works well with a number of different salad greens and can accompany almost any major protein source, although it works exceptionally well with fish.

So if you want to combat obesity and improve your heart health while keeping hunger under control, don’t be so fast to run out and drizzle fat-free salad dressing on your greens. Use an olive oil based dressing instead for superior results.
